TCL 40 X - a range of budget smartphones with Android 13 and 5000mAh batteries priced at $150-200
TCL has announced the 40 X series of smartphones at MWC 2023. It includes three models, two of which support 5G. The new models are called TCL 40 X, 40 XE and 40 XL.
Here's What We Know
Let's start with the regular TCL 40 X. This is the most expensive smartphone in the series. It gets a 90Hz HD+ IPS LCD display with a diagonal of 6.56". The main camera resolution is 50 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP, while the front camera is 8 MP. The smartphone is equipped with stereo speakers, a Dimensity 700 chip with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
The second new product is the TCL 40 XL. It has remained without 5G support as it gets a Helio G37 processor. The storage capacity has been increased to 128GB and the screen size has been increased to 6.75", but there is no 90Hz support. The rest of the specifications are the same as the previous model.
The third new product is the TCL 40 XE. This is the company's cheapest 5G smartphone. It differs from the usual TCL 40 X in the absence of stereo speakers and a 50 MP camera. Its place was taken by an image sensor with 13 MP resolution.
All three smartphones get 5,000mAh batteries, headphone jacks, USB-C, Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 5. The fast charging power is 18W. The new devices run on Android 13 with TCL UI shell.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The TCL 40 XL will go on sale in May for $150. The rest of the new products will appear in June. The TCL 40 X was priced at $200 and the TCL 40 XE at $170.
