The makers of the Ukrainian kamikaze drone RAM II, which destroyed tens of millions of dollars worth of Russian equipment, could manufacture 1,000 of these UAVs each month

DeVIRo, KORT and Ukrainian Armoured Equipment may ramp up production of the RAM II kamikaze drones. These drones have already proven themselves in destroying Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Here's What We Know

RAM II is a Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicle. It was developed in 2018 based on the Leleka-100 reconnaissance drone. The vast majority of components for the drone are developed in Ukraine.

The RAM II is equipped with a camera with a 30x optical zoom and digital image stabilisation. The drone is capable of capturing targets from several kilometres away and can hit objects that are on the move.

It has a wingspan of 1.8 metres and weighs 11 kg. The drone can fly for 2 hours and can carry a warhead weighing up to 3 kg. The RAM II can be equipped with fragmentation, shaped charge and thermobaric ammunition.

According to the manufacturer, the kamikaze drone is capable of destroying a tank, armoured personnel carrier, infantry fighting vehicle and multiple rocket launchers. We have already seen this for ourselves. A video of the destruction of two $25 million Cheap RAM II kamikaze drones destroy two $50m Tor-M2 Russian SAMs was recently published, and a little later the Ukrainian Security Service destroyed a third Tor-M2 and BM-21 "Grad".

The four drones thus hit Russian military equipment worth tens of millions of dollars. The cost of the RAM II is not specified, but the developers say the kamikaze drone costs hundreds of times less than the equipment it destroys.

At the moment, manufacturers can produce 1,000 drones a month. At the same time, they can increase production of the RAM II if necessary.
