Capcom removes Denuvo DRM protection from Resident Evil Village
As with many Capcom games, Resident Evil Village had Denuvo pirate protection at its release in May 2021, but as with many Capcom games, this protection was quietly removed.
The change was first noticed by dsogaming, and later confirmed by the SteamDB database, which tracks changes in the game. For some reason, the protection in RE Village was delayed for too long, especially considering that it was hacked two months after the game's release.
In general, Denuvo DRM is a fairly reliable technology that allows developers to protect their games from pirates, but it can also cause many performance issues even on powerful PC builds, not to mention medium or weak ones.
Resident Evil Village was released on 6 May 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, PC, and even MacOS.
