Here's What We Know
Apparently the tank was brought to the United States for exhibition or research. This one is from 2004. It was seized by the Ukrainian military last year in the Kharkov region. The tank belonged to 27th separate guards motorized rifle brigade of the russian armed forces.

The T-90 is a third generation Russian main battle tank. It was created in the late 1980s as a deep upgrade of the T-72B tank. The tank entered service with the Russian army in 1992. As of 2010 Russia had 250 to 500 tanks of this type. As for the T-90A, it is an upgraded version of the T-90 with a V-92C2 engine rated at 1000 hp, improved thermal imaging equipment, and a turret with dynamic protection.
