Oryx: Ukraine receives new batch of OTO Melara M109L self-propelled artillery units from Italy

Italy continues to help Ukraine by transferring a new batch of self-propelled artillery units to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was revealed by military analysts at Oryx. Ukraine received the first batch of 20 howitzers last year. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces have received another 40 units.

Flashback

The OTO Melara M109L is the Italian development of the M109 self-propelled howitzer. The key difference between the gun is the new barrel developed by Leonardo Defence Systems. It has a maximum range of 40 km using active-rocket rounds.
