Insider: Microsoft foresaw the failure of Redfall and wanted to move developers quickly to the more ambitious Arkane Studios project
Even before the release of Redfall, many gamers and journalists were sceptical about the game.
Yesterday the vampire shooter was released, and it turned out that users' fears were fully justified. The game was at least mediocre and boring.
Here's What We Know
It has been revealed on the web that Microsoft shared the opinion of the critics and didn't believe in the Arkane Studios game's success. Such a thesis was voiced by a French retailer that is working with Arkane. According to the retailer, Microsoft wanted Redfall to end development sooner, so its game designers joined their Arkane Lyon counterparts to work on a far more ambitious and promising game.

Given the questionable quality of Redfall, this information can be trusted.
As a reminder, Arkane Lyon is the studio that created the excellent Dishonored series and the highly acclaimed Deathloop. Perhaps the unnamed "ambitious game" is the third installment of the Dishonored stealth action game that fans have been dreaming of for years.
