The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has published fresh photos of the IRIS-T surface-to-air missile system on combat duty

The Ukrainian Air Force recently released the first video of the IRIS-T surface-to-air missile system in action. The video was recorded in winter. Now the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has shown fresh footage of the IRIS-T on combat duty.

Here's What We Know

As usual, the General Staff is not very verbose. The publication says only that the IRIS-T is on combat duty. Judging by the surroundings, the pictures were taken not too long ago.

The Ukrainian Air Force has two surface-to-air missile systems in service with the German company Diehl. Germany will hand over two more SAMs in the future.

The launcher uses IRIS-T surface-to-ground missiles, which can engage air threats (planes, helicopters, drones, rockets) at ranges up to 20 km in height and up to 40 km in range. The Hensoldt TRML-4D detects targets within a radius of 250 km.

The first surface-to-air missile system entered service with the Air Force last autumn. It has already shot down more than 60 enemy air targets. The second IRIS-T system was delivered at the end of April.
