Orion is a very rare medium-altitude drone with a long duration of flight. The Russian army has several dozen such drones in service. The manufacturer is the Kronshtadt company.
The drone has a wingspan of 16.3 metres, a height of 3.2 metres and is 8 metres long. It is capable of carrying up to 200 kg of payload or combat payload. The drone has a range of 250 km and a flight time of 24 hours with a payload of 60 kg.
The Orion is equipped with a 115 horsepower (86 kW) engine. Cruising speed of the drone is 120-200 km/h. During the flight the drone can climb to an altitude of up to 7,500 meters.
As for the KAB-20, which the Orion was equipped with, it is a corrective aerial bomb, i.e. an analogue of the JDAM. Its weight is 20 kg. The warhead has a high-explosive fragmentation warhead.
