France will not deliver Rafale M and Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine, but will send long-range missiles
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to rely on long-range missiles from France. This was announced by President Emmanuel Macron.
Here's What We Know
The French leader did not say what kind of long-range missiles Ukraine will receive. However, it is known that there are SCALP-EG aviation missiles in service. This is the French version of Storm Shadow. Macron says only that the range of the new missiles "will allow Ukraine to resist".
Ukraine has already received an unknown number of Storm Shadow. Russian media have said that it was these weapons that struck Luhansk, which is 100km from the front line. The Ukrainian Armed Forces did not comment on these statements.
As for France, Macron also noted that it would not supply Ukraine with fighter jets. This refers to the Rafale M and Mirage 2000. At the same time Ukrainian pilots will go to France, where they will undergo training on Mirage 2000 planes.
