Unknown maritime kamikaze drone attacks first Russian communications reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs in the Black Sea

On May 24, the media reported that naval drones had attacked the Russian ship Ivan Khurs in the Black Sea. The Russian defence ministry issued a confirmation, although it claimed that all the drones had been destroyed. But this is not actually the case.

Here's What We Know

An interesting video was published on Thursday showing that at least one navy kamikaze drone was able to successfully attack the ship. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have not commented on the video that appeared.

Flashback

Ivan Khurs is the first serial communications reconnaissance ship in service with the Russian Federation's navy. It has been part of the Black Sea Fleet since 2018, i.e. it is a relatively new vessel.

The ship was attacked by kamikaze drones 140km northeast of the Bosphorus. As of now, the Russian defence ministry and media are not reporting what damage the Ivan Khurs sustained.
