Google ends support for Chromecast 1st generation

Google has announced that it is discontinuing support for the first generation Chromecast.

This announcement has appeared on Google's tech support website. The latest update for the device has a build number of 1.36.159268 and it includes bug fixes and software improvements.

Google introduced the first generation Chromecast in 2013. The gadget has an HDMI port for connection to a TV and micro USB for charging. The device comes with 512MB of RAM and 2GB of storage.
