Samsung has admitted the problem with the Galaxy S23 and S23+ cameras and promises to fix it with an update
Not long ago, some owners of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ flagships started complaining about the camera's performance, or more specifically about the presence of unexpected blurring in photos. Samsung has already responded to these complaints.
Here's What We Know
The company seems to acknowledge the problem. The support team has explained why this might be occurring:
"While testing the camera capabilities of the S23 or S23+, you may have noticed that the area around the subject looks a bit blurred when taking a close-up shot. This is because the rear wide-angle camera on the S23 and S23+ has a bright aperture, which helps when taking photos in the dark. However, this also means that more noticeable selective focus can make the background of your photos look a bit blurry"
In addition, the Samsung Community Forum in Poland reports that the company is already working on a solution to this problem. This requires a software fix. A firmware update that will remove the defect is already in development. However, Samsung does not specify when exactly it will be released.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, is not affected by this problem thanks to the focus enhancement feature.
