Google releases June's Pixel Feature Drop with macro video, cinematic wallpaper and improved security features

There are only a few weeks left before Google launches its first foldable smartphone and a little more before Android 14, but despite the still hot schedule, the company does not forget about the traditional portion of new features and improvements "Pixel Featuredrop" for its smartphones and this time there is something to tell.

Here's What We Know

Firstly, Pixel 7 Pro owners will now be able to use the camera's macro mode to record video. Fans have been waiting for this feature for a very long time, as the smartphone was released in October, but they have received it only now. It's worth noting that macro shooting is not available in all apps or camera modes.

Second, the wallpaper has been updated. Owners of Pixel 6 and later can create cinematic wallpapers that will give your lock screen a smooth parallax effect. Using artificial intelligence, Google transforms 2D wallpapers into dynamic 3D scenes for a magical look. The cinematic photo feature has been one of the special features of Google Photos for several years, but now users can create them at will at any time. In addition, Google allows you to create your own wallpapers using emojis, following Apple's example with iOS.

Third, Google continues to work on expanding personal security features. The update will allow users to use voice commands to activate emergency access or schedule a security check using the Google Assistant on their Pixel smartphone. In countries where Pixel supports accident detection, you can set your phone to notify contacts in case of an emergency by sending them your real-time location within seconds of detecting an accident.

Improvements have also been made to the haptic feedback and adaptive charging. The Pixel 6A and 7A now automatically reduce the intensity of vibration when the phone is on a hard surface to avoid excessive rattling at full power. With the help of artificial intelligence, adaptive charging will now further extend the life of your Pixel battery. When plugged in, the phone anticipates a long charging session based on previous user habits and slowly charges to 100% one hour before you are expected to disconnect.

Of course, these are not all the updates, but we've covered the main ones. If you want to see the full list, you can do so on the official website.
