The US edition of CBS News, citing a Pentagon spokesman, has revealed when the training programme for Ukrainian crews on Abrams tanks will end.
Here's What We Know
The United States plans to complete the programme by the end of the summer. After that, the tanks will begin to be shipped to Ukraine. Incidentally, the training programme is now taking place at training grounds in Germany. Around 200 people are taking part in it. The Ukrainian military are being trained on specially prepared combat vehicles. As for the tanks that will be transferred to Ukraine, they are currently undergoing repairs.
Flashback
The US initially announced the transfer of Abrams tanks in M1A2 modification to Ukraine. Later, it became known that the AFU will receive older versions of the M1A1 SA, which are in service with the US Army. This will make it possible to deliver the combat vehicles this year and not in 2024 as originally announced.
