Kuwait buys Turkish Bayraktar TB2 attack drones for $367m
While Baykar is testing the Bayraktar TB2 with new missiles, the drone's popularity is only growing. Kuwait is in line for Turkish strike drones.
Here's What We Know
Demand for the Bayraktar TB2 has soared following the successful use of the strike drones in Ukraine, Libya and Syria. Kuwait has become the 28th country to receive the Turkish company's drones.
The deal amounted to $367m, but the number of drones ordered is not specified at the moment. The Bayraktar TB2 fleet will be able to support naval and coast guard forces, as well as monitor the country's maritime and land borders. This was announced by the Kuwaiti Air Force's operations commander, General Fahad Al-Dosari.
The Bayraktar TB2 can carry light laser-guided bombs. The maximum flight time is 27 hours. By the way, this record was set in 2019 during a drone test just in Kuwait.
