Microsoft: Bungie - makers of shooters Destiny and Halo - to release a brand new game in 2025, codenamed Matter

Another piece of news has emerged from documents submitted by Microsoft during its court hearings with the FTC.

Here's What We Know

Microsoft had seriously considered buying studio Bungie, creator of the popular shooters Destiny and Halo, but after Sony and Bungie merged in early 2022, that question was closed.

However, during the proceedings surrounding the purchase of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft has revealed that Bungie Studios plans to release a brand new game in 2025.

What's more, it's not the recently announced Marathon shooter, which has generated a lot of public interest, but a project codenamed Matter. It was first mentioned in 2018, but apart from the fact that the game will be humorous, nothing is known about it.

Most likely, according to Sony's new strategy, Matter will be released on PC and PlayStation 5.
