Copilot for Windows 11 released in public preview
Microsoft has released Windows 11 build number 23493 for Insider Preview members in the Dev channel, which provides access to Copilot mode.
Here's What We Know
After installing the update, users can press Windows+C to open the Copilot pane on the right side of the screen. Like other Bing Chat implementations, it has three different conversation style settings: Creative, Balanced, and Precise.
In addition to chatting, Copilot supports AI image creation using OpenAI's DALL-E 2 model. However, third-party plugins are not yet available.
Copilot's integration at the operating system level will allow you to change some Windows settings and execute commands. For example, the assistant can turn on night mode, activate Do Not Disturb mode, or take screenshots using a text prompt.
As usual, the new Insider Preview build comes with various fixes, features, and changes. For example, the Settings section received a redesigned home page.
The developers also added built-in support for compressed archives other than .zip. Now Windows 11 can read all kinds of .tar files, as well as RAR, 7-zip and other formats.
The Settings app home page and some other features are being rolled out gradually and may not be available to everyone at once.
