RPG developer Deltarune reveals new details of Chapter 3 development
The RPG Deltarune has been in development for a long time and had a remarkable release schedule. The first chapter was released back in 2018, followed by the second three years later. Since then, Toby Fox and his team have been working on the remaining three chapters of the game with the aim of releasing them as a single package. In a recent newsletter, Fox shared an update on the development progress.
Here's What We Know
According to Fox, while some members of the development team are working on future chapters of Deltarune, the focus remains on Chapter 3. The development of this chapter seems to be progressing well, and the team is currently focusing on creating territory on the surface of the world. Fox notes that Chapter 3 was challenging to develop, but Chapter 4 will be easier:
"As was the case last time, we’re focusing on Chapter 3. However, there are a few people working on pieces of later chapters, such as bullet patterns or puzzles. As for Chapter 3, we’re finally creating the final overworld area. You could think of it like the “Queen’s Castle” or “Card Castle”, but for this chapter. With this complete, the chapter will finally be playable all the way through…! (Fun Fact: I composed the song for this area in 2016…".
The first two chapters of Deltarune are currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
