Apple closes first ever trading session with a market capitalisation of more than $3 trillion

The capitalisation of the US company Apple managed to consolidate at the $3 trillion mark at the second attempt. In the middle of this week it came close to the psychological threshold, but failed to overcome it.

Here's What We Know

At the close of trading a few days ago, Apple's share price was up 0.63%. The stock was priced at $189.25 apiece and had a market capitalisation of $2.98 trillion.

On 30 June 2023, trading closed at $193.97. Apple surpassed $3 trillion in market capitalization and gained another 0.17% after the close of trading session.

Apple became the most expensive company in 2011, when its capitalization was $340 billion. The $1 trillion mark was surpassed by mid-2018. The second trillion was taken about two more years later.

On 3 January 2023, Apple's capitalisation surpassed $3 trillion for the first time, but it was unable to maintain that mark until the close of the trading session. Since the start of this year, the US company's capitalisation has risen by more than $983bn.
