nubia Red Magic 8S Pro+ - an accelerated version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, up to 24GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage and 165W charging from $760
nubia has announced its flagship smartphone, the Red Magic 8S Pro+. One of its main features is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
Here's What We Know
The nubia Red Magic 8S Pro+ is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version processor. It has a maximum clock speed of 3.36GHz. It has 16GB or 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage capacity ranging from 256GB to 1TB. The smartphone scores over 1.7 million points in AnTuTu v10.
On the front, there's an OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels and a 6.8" diagonal. The panel has no cutouts or holes and the 16MP front camera (OmniVision OV16A1Q) is mounted underneath the screen.
The main camera in the nubia Red Magic 8S Pro+ turned out to be quite modest. It has a resolution of 50 MP (Samsung GN5) + 8 MP + 2 MP and has not got a telephoto lens. But the camera isn't the strong point of any smartphone geared towards gaming. There's no optical stabilisation, by the way, either, but there is support for 8K.
The power subsystem is represented by a 5000mAh battery. The fast charging power was 165W. The smartphone also got Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, a headphone output and stereo speakers. There is no water protection.
