Italy prepares to ship another 20-25 Oto Melara M109L self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces may soon receive a new batch of Oto Melara M109L self-propelled artillery units.

Italy plans to send about 20-25 more self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. A batch of Oto Melara M109L artillery guns has been spotted at a railway station in the Italian municipality of Poggio-Rusco.

The M109L is an upgraded version of the US M109 self-propelled howitzer that was produced under license in Europe. It is equipped with the FH70 155/39 caliber cannon, which allows hitting enemy targets at a distance of up to 30 km.
