Samsung does re-release the old Galaxy S21 FE: why?
Rumours have recently surfaced that Samsung intends to re-launch the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone of early 2022. And now it has happened. Meet the new (old) Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 2023.
Here's What's New About It
The relaunch has only happened in India, so Samsung is unlikely to update the Galaxy S21 FE in other countries. There hasn't been an official announcement, but you can already buy the updated model in shops. At the same time, Samsung's official website in India still states that the S21 FE 2023 is "coming soon".
So, what has changed? Firstly, previously only the Galaxy S21 FE version with the Exynos 2100 processor was sold in India, but now it has been changed to Snapdragon 888. In fact, this isn't even an upgrade, as the Galaxy S21 FE has been available with Snapdragon 888 before, but not in India.
Secondly, the base model now has 256GB of internal storage instead of 128GB. And it costs the same as the old 128GB version did.
Thirdly, the smartphone now comes in a new dark blue colour, which has replaced the white colour scheme. The other colours remain the same: olive, graphite and lavender.
Other specs are unchanged: a 6.4-inch 120Hz display, 32 MP front-facing camera, triple main camera (12+12+8 MP), 4,500 mAh battery, 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. However, it is not yet clear whether the S21 FE 2023 will launch with Android 12 or Android 13.
