The Exoprimal shooter will support cross-play, but with a big nuance
The PvEvP dinosaur shooter Exoprimal will be released next week and, along with Street Fighter 6, will be the first games from Capcom to support cross-play, but in this case, it's not so simple.
Here's What We Know
In a new tweet, the developer clarified that crossplay will be available on the first day, but "party creation will be specific to each platform ecosystem." This means that Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Windows Store users will be able to play together, but not with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Steam players. The loss is particularly noticeable for Steam users, as they cannot party with anyone on other platforms or storefronts.
Hello Exofighters,
- Exoprimal (@exoprimal) 7 July, 2023
We've seen the #Exoprimal community discussions happening regarding the ability to create parties between players on different platforms, and would like to clarify the game's feature set around this at launch. ????????
While this may not be a big deal, the lack of cross-platform play seems very out of place.
When We Can Expect It
Exoprimal will be released on 14 July on Xbox, PlayStation and Windows (Microsoft Store, Steam), as well as Xbox Game Pass.
