BMW launches ConnectedRide smart glasses for bikers for €690

During a recent presentation in Berlin, BMW Motorrad (the motorbike division of BMW) unveiled ConnectedRide - smart glasses for bikers.

Details

This is a very useful gadget for motorcyclists that is designed to enhance the riding experience and safety. It uses HUD technology which is already known from cars. The goggles display speed, navigation and gear information in real time. This way, the driver doesn't have to lower his or her eyes to the dashboard, which increases safety.

For this purpose, ConnectedRide connects via Bluetooth to a smartphone and works in conjunction with the BMW Motorrad Connected branded app. Users can set the necessary settings and control the settings both before and during the ride - using the multicontroller on the handlebars of the motorbike.

The goggles are also ergonomically designed to fit a variety of helmet types and face shapes. Two sets of certified UVA/UVB lenses are included, so the goggles can also protect against the sun. In addition, BMW offers an RX adapter to match most prescriptions for people with low vision.

The device runs on a built-in rechargeable battery with up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. The price is €690.
