A Ukrainian drone with grenades destroyed a unique Russian BTR-80 armoured personnel carrier with a UMZ launcher for remote mining
The defence forces were recently able to destroy a unique piece of Russian military equipment. We are talking about a BTR-80 armoured personnel carrier in an unusual configuration.
Here's What We Know
The armoured personnel carrier was equipped with a universal mine barrier (in Russian - UMZ). The launcher is used for remote mines innabrosis. The original version of the system uses a ZIL-131 flatbed truck as a chassis.

UMZ allows for the creation of anti-tank, anti-personnel and mixed minefields. The launcher uses PTM-1, PTM-3, PMF-1, POM-1 and POM-2 mines. It is also possible to use other mines that are compatible with cassettes of types KSF-1, KSF-1S, KSF-1S-0.5, KSF-1S-0.5SK, KSO-1, KPOM-2, KPTM-1, KPTM-3.
The irony of the story is that the BTR-80 with UMZ was immobilised after running over a mine itself. The Ukrainian Defence Forces then destroyed the armoured personnel carrier with a 40mm grenade that was dropped from a drone.
