Tesla's first electric Cybertruck pickup trucks will only have a range of 565 kilometres
Tesla last week finally launched mass production of its Cybertruck electric pickup trucks. According to InsideEVs the range of the first vehicles could be well below the maximum range.
Here's What We Know
Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck in 2019. At the presentation it was said that the electric pickup truck on a single battery charge will be able to travel almost 1000 km in the top modification. According to new data, the range of the first cars will be approximately 565 km.
In the future there will be versions for 800 km and 1000 km. Thus, a total of three configurations will be available instead of the four that were originally mentioned. Tesla has decided to abandon the base variant with a range of 400 kilometres.
Cybertruck will be inferior to one of the competitors in the face of Chevrolet Silverado EV, which is able to travel almost 725 km without the need to charge the batteries. Ford F-150 Lightning in the Extended-Range version has a range of 515 kilometres.
Series production of the Cybertruck has already started and Tesla wants to produce 2,000 vehicles by the end of the year. The cost of the electric pickup truck is not yet specified, but it will be higher than the announced 2019 $39,990.
