Australia to buy 129 AS21 Redback advanced infantry fighting vehicles from South Korea
South Korea's Hanwha Defence has won a tender to supply AS21 Redback advanced infantry fighting vehicles to the Australian Army as part of the Land 400 Phase 3 programme.

The information was shared by the publication Australian Defence. Australia will be one of the first buyers of South Korean fifth-generation infantry fighting vehicles. The contract will include 129 combat vehicles, although initially it was planned to purchase 450 BMPs.
The amount of the contract has not been disclosed yet, but it is known that the programme that won the tender will cost Australia $5-7 billion. In addition to the purchase of BMPs, it also includes ammunition, spare parts and training programme. There is no information yet on when deliveries of combat vehicles will begin.
