Media: the next game console from Nintendo will be available in the second half of 2024. Some details of the new device have been revealed

VGC portal has shared some important information about Nintendo's next gaming console.

Here's What We Know

According to VGC sources, the device will be available in the second half of 2024. Some developers have already received prototypes of the new console to have time to adapt their games to its capabilities.

The following details about the Nintendo Switch 2 (name is tentative) are reported:

• just like Switch, the console can be used in portable mode;
• to make the console cheaper, it will have an LCD screen rather than an LED or OLED display;
• the storage will be larger than the Switch's;
• there will be a slot for cartridges;
• it is not yet known if there will be backwards compatibility with Switch.

Nintendo plans to meet the demand for the new console and avoid the shortages that have long plagued the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
