Redmi 12 5G: 90Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and 5000 mAh battery for $135
Xiaomi held an event in India where it announced the Redmi 12 budget smartphone with 5G support.
Here's What We Know
The novelty became a copy of the Redmi Note 12R model, which debuted in China in June. The smartphone received an IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution (1080×2460p), a diagonal of 6.79" and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The body of the device has IP53 water droplet protection.
The Redmi 12 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. The gadget is also equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, 50 MP + 2 MP main camera, 8 MP front camera, 4/6/8 GB RAM, up to 256 GB storage, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone comes with a hybrid dual-SIM and microSD slot. Out of the box, the novelty runs Android 13 operating system with MIUI 14 interface.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Sales of the Redmi 12 5G will start in India on 4 August. The novelty will be available in three colours and three modifications:
- Redmi 12 5G, 4/128GB - $135
- Redmi 12 5G, 6/128GB - $150
- Redmi 12 5G, 8/256GB - $175
Whether the smartphone will appear in other regions is still unknown.
