An Israeli ship escorted by a US RQ-4 Global Hawk strategic drone and a P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft broke the Russian blockade in the Black Sea
In the middle of last month, the Russian defence ministry declared a naval war and hinted that it would destroy any ships sailing to Ukraine. As practice shows, threats do not work very effectively.
Here's What We Know
Despite the Russian defence ministry's threats, the Israeli ship Ams1 entered the Ukrainian branch of the Danube River the previous day. It became the first ship to break the Russian blockade. Moreover, immediately after leaving the port it became known that the destination was Ukraine. Nobody planned to hide the route of the ship.
The Sahin 2 and Yilmaz Kaptan left Greece and Turkey and headed there as well. They were followed by Sealock and Afer. The security of the ships was provided by anti-submarine patrol aircraft P-8 Poseidon. Also in the sky was a strategic reconnaissance drone RQ-4 Global Hawk, which regularly makes flights over the Black Sea.
