Tudor Cernega, the mayor of the Ceatalchioi commune in Tulcea, said that Russian kamikaze drones crossed the Romanian border after an attack on a Ukrainian seaport in the town of Izmail, Odessa region . According to local residents and Danube sailors, one of the drones fell in a local forest. At the same time, no UAV wreckage was found.

Residents reported several times about UAVs flying over their houses. Later, they panicked when they heard the sounds of the Ukrainian air defence system destroying the drones.

Romania's Ministry of National Defence said there was no direct military threat to the country from the Russian Federation. The reinforcement of the eastern borders was also announced.
