Processors MediaTek Helio P will be with built-in AI and face recognition technology
MediaTek Deputy General Director, Kuan Zhou Chen, said that in 2018 the company will launch two new P-series processors. According to him, both chipsets will get impressive performance. But the main emphasis will be placed on AI, peripheral computing and computer vision. Because of this, future smartphones with SoC data will have face recognition technology, and work with 3D graphics, VR and AR will improve.
At the moment there are no exact characteristics of future chipsets, but, most likely, they will compete with Qualcomm Snapdragon 640 and 670 .
In November of this year, MediaTek announced its decision to abandon the production of top-end processors and focus its attention on the middle segment. This step is quite logical, considering that the last flagship chipset Helio X30 was installed only in Meizu Pro 7 Plus.
