Updated Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3: now with Intel Core 8th generation
Xiaomi announced in China a new version of the 13.3-inch notebook Mi Notebook Air c with processors Intel Core i5 and i7 eighth generation. It will be produced in a dark gray color, like the 15-inch model.
How is it interesting?
Updated Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 is also equipped with exactly the same 13.3-inch IPS-display with Full HD-resolution 1920x1080 pixels and maximum brightness 300 cd / m². Inside - quad-core Intel Core i5-8250U or Core i7-8550U, a new cooling system with two fans and an increased heat pipe was developed for heat removal. There is a discrete graphics NVIDIA GeForce MX150 with 2 GB of video memory GDDR5. Both versions received 8 GB of DDR4 memory and 256 GB of PCIe SSD.
The laptop is enclosed in a metal case with a thickness of 14.8 mm and weighs 1.3 kg. Under the backlit keyboard is a touchpad with a built-in fingerprint scanner. For battery autonomy, a battery with a capacity of 40 Wh is responsible for fast charging up to 50% for 30 minutes, using a USB Type-C port (full-function, you can connect a 4K monitor). Of the interfaces also there are two full-size USB 3.0, HDMI and 3.5-mm headphone jack. There is an HD camera for video calls, Wi-Fi 802.11ac modules and Bluetooth 4.1. The dynamics of AKG have not disappeared anywhere.
As the operating system is Windows 10 Home, the laptop comes with a pre-installed office suite Office Home and Student 2016. However, it is not yet clear how the situation is with localization - previous models supported only the Chinese language system, and in official shipments outside of China at all was the OS.
Question price
On the home market, the new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 with the Core i5 of the eighth generation will go on sale as early as January 24 at a price of about $ 845. Simultaneously, the company will reduce the price for the previous model of silver color - the top configuration on the Core i7-7500U will be available for $ 780.
The next update of the Mi Notebook Air line was successful. This is not the most affordable solution on the new Intel chips (Lenovo IdeaPad 520 and Dell Inspiron 5379 will cost less), but among the metal ultrabooks with a design in the style of the MacBook, the novelty does not have direct competitors. On the other hand, more expensive Dell, Lenovo and HP models offer support for Thunderbolt 3 and come with "normal" Windows 10.
