The Polish Army has received a new batch of 120 mm Rak self-propelled mortars with a target engagement range of up to 12 km

The 21st Mountain Infantry Rifle Brigade of the Polish Army received Rak self-propelled mortars.

Here's What We Know

This was announced by Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak. We are talking about the 13th batch of such mortars. They were handed over to the army by Polish industry. The number of vehicles has not been disclosed yet, but it can be assumed that we are talking about a company set: eight self-propelled mortars and four fire control vehicles.

For those not in the know

The Rak is a self-propelled mortar made in Poland. It is built on the chassis of the Rosomak BMP. The mortar has a calibre of 120 mm and 46 rounds of ammunition. The Rak can hit targets at a distance of up to 12 kilometres. The stated rate of fire is up to 8 rounds per minute. It will take only 30 seconds to deploy the system. By the way, Ukraine has ordered about 50-60 such self-propelled mortars this spring.
