All future Nokia smartphones will be released from Android One
The Android One program was created to allow manufacturers to produce inexpensive smartphones on "pure" Android for developing countries. This would provide the device with better performance and faster updates. But since the announcement of the program in 2014, it has turned into something more. Now it's very similar to Google Play Edition smartphones - devices of any level with 2 years of support from Google. This project did not last long and then was closed.
The company HMD Global, like Motorola, began to release their devices with minimal changes to the Android OS. But at the MWC 2018, the manufacturer is taking another important step. Now all new Nokia smartphones will be released within the Android One program. And this means that the devices will receive timely fresh security patches and be updated within two years. Thanks to this, HMD Global with smartphones Nokia can become one of the key players in the Android ecosystem.
