Ukraine is interested in the Greek drone SARISA SRS-1A with Thales RL275-1S missile launcher, which can destroy armoured vehicles
Spirit Aeronautical Systems attended the AUSA 2023 conference in the USA. The Greek company there showed its new quadcopter SARISA SRS-1A.
Here's What We Know
The drone is equipped with an RL275-1S launcher manufactured by Thales. Spirit Aeronautical Systems says that the new development has interested international customers, which include Ukraine, among others.
The Greek company calls its development unique. The SARISA SRS-1A can launch Hydra 70 missiles and destroy enemy armoured vehicles. The carriers of Hydra 70 are Apache attack helicopters, but the Greek quadrocopter is many times cheaper.
The UAV is equipped with a kinetic energy absorption system that helps stabilise the drone after a missile launch. The Greek startup and Thales conducted successful launch tests in the summer of 2023.
The SARISA SRS-1A can hit targets within a radius of several kilometres with a deviation of less than a metre. The Greek company has developed a control station for complex operations. Simple missions can be carried out using a standard controller.
