"Smart" Xiaomi socket with two USB ports costs less than $ 13
Xiaomi has released a new model of "smart" outlet Mi Smart Socket Enhanced Edition with a pair of USB ports to charge the user's devices.
What does she know?
Unlike the ZigBee version, this smart socket does not require a connection to the Xiaomi smart home system - it transmits information via home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz). In the mobile application, you can schedule work, create timers, view real-time consumption and detailed statistics. There is protection against overheating: first the device sends a notification to the user's smartphone, and if the temperature rises to a dangerous level, the power automatically turns off.
The current is maintained up to 10 A, the maximum power is 2.2 kW. The novelty supports the charging standard BC1.2 and provides up to 5V / 2.4A on two USB ports. It's a pity that the Chinese plug will need an adapter for our outlets (if used with universal Xiaomi extension cords, this is not a problem).
When and how much?
In China, Xiaomi Mi Smart Socket Enhanced Edition sales will begin on March 7, the issue price is 79 yuan or about $ 12.5. Very good, but on online sites the socket will cost more, most likely, $ 19-20. The most simple model without detailed analysis of energy consumption can be bought for $ 12 on AliExpress, and the version of ZigBee costs up to $ 16 .
