The Swedish Ministry of Defence is investing in the modernisation of Gripen C/D fighters. The Ministry of Defence has recently signed a contract with Saab.
Here's What We Know
The Defence Material Directorate is modernising the fourth-generation Gripen C/D fighter jets. This will allow the aircraft to fly until the 2030s. The amount of the first contract with Saab was more than $52 million.
Sweden also wants to upgrade the fighters to the Gripen E. The first production aircraft has already been handed over to the Defence Material Directorate for operational testing. Deliveries will begin in two years.
