Portable Ocean: pixelated indie game about the adventures of Dave the Diver is out on Nintendo Switch
Dave the Diver, an indie adventure game about the life of a diver, was originally released on PC in June 2023 and has sold more than 2 million copies since then. Now it's time for Nintendo Switch players to appreciate the project, as Korean studio MINTROCKET has released the game on the portable console. Dave the Diver is available on the eShop for $20.
Here's What We Know
Dave the Diver is a pixelated indie adventure game that tells the story of a carefree diver named Dave. During the day, he works as a diver and fishes, at night he works in an exotic sushi bar, and in between, he explores a mysterious marine civilisation. Thanks to this, half of the game is spent exploring the underwater world, fishing, and solving secrets. And the other half of the game is spent in an arcade simulator of a sushi bar, where the financial success of the establishment depends on your work.
A themed trailer was also released on YouTube to coincide with the Switch release, where a girl plays Dave the Diver at work, in a restaurant, and wherever else she can.
The game received 90 points from critics and 8.2 points from players on Metacritic. You can learn more about the game in our review.
