Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 processors for wireless headphones

Qualcomm has announced two more chips. Unlike Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, they are designed for Bluetooth devices, including wireless headphones.

The new chips are called Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1. Both support artificial intelligence algorithms, next-generation active noise cancellation and Bluetooth 5.4. To unlock the full potential of the new processors, Qualcomm recommends using them with Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-based devices.

The Pro version is characterised by support for XPan technology. This is a feature that allows you to automatically switch to a Wi-Fi connection at speeds of up to 29 Mbps. In this mode, the range is increased.

Qualcomm did not tell which companies intend to release headphones with the new processors. The first commercial devices based on Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 and S7 Pro Gen 1 will appear in 2024. It is possible that at the CES 2024 trade show.
