UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will warn at the upcoming Artificial Intelligence Summit of new dangers of the technology that need to be tackled directly.
Here's What We Know
In his speech, Sunak will highlight the potential of AI for economic growth, but will also talk about the risks of cybercrime, the creation of bioweapons, the spread of misinformation and job losses.
He will call for honesty about possible threats from AI. The Prime Minister says a responsible approach is to respond directly to people's concerns while preserving the benefits of the technology.
Documents published by the government outline the risks of social disruption, massive AI fraud, and the creation of misinformation on an unprecedented scale. Existential threats cannot be ruled out, although this scenario is unlikely, the authors of the text admit.
The document also notes such dangers as cyberattacks and biological weapons created with the help of AI. Jobs in IT, law and finance will be under attack.
In addition, there is a significant risk of biases becoming entrenched in training data for AI, the paper said.
