Apple Music already has 38 million paid subscribers
At the SXSW festival in Texas, the head of Apple's services development Eddie Cue announced that the number of paid subscribers to Apple Music exceeds 38 million.
By leaps and bounds
In early February, company representatives confirmed information on 36 million paid subscribers, which means that in just one month the audience of music service increased by 2 million. This is perhaps the highest growth rate since the launch of Apple Music in the summer of 2015. According to Eddie Cue, another eight million users connected a free trial subscription.
Most likely, such popularity is connected with the launch of Apple HomePod smart column, which normally works only with the company's branded music service (others only through AirPlay).
What are the competitors?
The Swedish music service Spotify retains the first place in popularity with more than 71 million paid subscribers (and 159 million with the free version ). Amazon Music Unlimited is used by 16 million people, and the paid audience of Deezer is estimated at 9 million users. Google Play Music does not disclose its statistics, but there is really nothing to boast about in the music market for the search giant.
