After numerous teasers, the Chinese Oppo finally introduced a new generation of its flagships - Oppo R15 and the older version of the R15 Dream Mirror Edition.

What do we have here?

As expected , smartphones received an extended display with a "bang" in the style of Apple iPhone X. 6.28-inch OLED-panel has a resolution of 2280x1080 pixels and a ratio of 19: 9. It occupies about 90% of the front surface. According to the manufacturer, the thickness of the side frames is 1.78 mm.

The company has not been pursuing the flagship characteristics for a long time, so the standard Oppo R15 is built on the new eight-core chipset of the "above average" class MediaTek Helio P60 with a frequency of 2 GHz and the Mali-G72 MP3 accelerator. Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition runs on the eight-core Snapdragon 660 with a frequency of 2.2 GHz and the Adreno 512 GPU. The memory capacity of the two versions is identical - 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory plus a microSD card slot with a capacity of up to 256 GB.

Dual cameras on the back of smartphones are slightly different. The main module with 16 megapixel sensor Sony IMX519 and aperture f / 1.7 is the same, but the auxiliary one is different. In the Oppo R15 it is 5 megapixels and with aperture f / 2.0, older versions got a 20-megapixel sensor and optics f / 1.7. Frontal 20-megapixel camera with artificial intelligence AI Smart Beauty supports all sorts of decorations for selfie. Unlock on the face did not add, but there is an old-good fingerprint scanner on the back.

Gadgets are enclosed in a glass case with a metal frame. The battery capacity is 3450 mAh or 3400 mAh in top models, there is a proprietary technology of fast charging VOOC. Standard R15 is available in white, red and purple (gradient) colors. Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition will be available in red and more expensive black with a ceramic back panel.

Sales of new products will start on April 1. Oppo R15 costs about $ 471, the red Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition is offered for $ 520, and the ceramic version is valued at $ 550. Here, no surprises - Oppo smartphones are always more expensive than competitors with similar characteristics. In China, they are sold well due to a large branded retail network and active advertising support, but in the world market the manufacturer does not have either the first or the second.
