The US Air Force sent two B-1B Lancer supersonic jets to Turkey amid tensions between Ankara and Jerusalem. The bombers of Expeditionary Squadron 9 are from the UK's Royal Air Force's Fairford base. In doing so, their home base is Dyess, Texas.
The aircraft performed a hot refuelling mission with engines on. The B-1B Lancer bombers remained at Incirlik base for less than two hours before departing on the mission alongside Turkish Air Force aircraft including the F-16 Fighting Falcon and KC-135R Asena.
