This year, Xiaomi will finally update the popular fitness tracker Mi Band 2. And although the company is not in a hurry to share details about the third-generation model, the code for the Mi Fit application already has schematic images of the gadget and hints for new features.
What kind of beast?
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is not much different from its predecessor. It's still the same capsule with a button and an OLED panel, but there are differences. The display has become touch-sensitive and supports gestures, and thanks to the increased resolution, more information is placed on it. The company will add a weather widget, switching between screens is done with the help of a svaypa up or down, and the indicators of physical activity can be viewed in the horizontal menu.
A brief press of the button will now perform the "back" function, and a long one will be used to confirm the action. The heart rate monitor in the tracker is also there. Mentioned also categories of notifications (for more flexible customization?).
If Xiaomi Mi Band 3 will receive a price tag at the current model level, which cost at the start of only 149 yuan ($ 24), the presence of NFC and GPS modules mentioned in rumors is under big question. In Mi Fit, too, there is no data on them. Perhaps the insiders mistakenly attributed the bracelet function of another gadget partner Xiaomi - Amazfit Beats, which is also on the way.
