The exact names of three new iPhone models are revealed
According to Guggenheim Securities analyst Robert Chihra, who refers to his sources inside Apple, the giant from Cupertino decided on the names for the three future smartphones.
What was told
The most "simple" flagship will be called just an iPhone. The device will be equipped with IPS-display, 2 gigabytes of RAM, but they will deprive the pair of functions that older models will receive. A pair of other smartphones will be called iPhone X2 and iPhone X2 Plus. These are direct followers of the iPhone X, which will have a similar appearance.
The iPhone X2 Plus will be equipped with a triple main camera with a fivefold optical zoom. The iPhone X2 will remain with dual modules. The heart of the three new models will be a fresh 8-core chip A12, made on a 7-nm process technology.
What to expect
If you believe the analyst's words, then Apple has chosen the right strategy for the name of future smartphones. For new models, they ran out of numbers in the top ten, so they added to the name of X and now each year they will add a new number to it. For example, in 2019, Apple will release the iPhone X3 and iPhone X3 Plus and so on. As for the simplified version, it's still better here. Now the device will be called simply iPhone, where the name will change only the year of release.
