Matt Reeves' Arkham Asylum series will take place in the main DC cinematic universe

After the successful Batman (2022) film starring Robert Pattinson, director Matt Reeves began to expand this universe. Currently, a series about the Penguin is in development, but Matt is also creating a series about Arkham Asylum, but its events will take place in a different universe.

Here's What We Know

James Gunn, the head of DC Studios, while answering questions from fans on social media, said that the events of Matt Reeves' Arkham series (the project has no official title yet) will take place in the main DC cinematic universe.

Initially, the series was supposed to tell about the Gotham police, but later the story was reworked to focus on Arkham Asylum. However, according to James, this series was always planned to be set in the main DC universe. At least during his tenure as head of DC Studios.

Gunn also added that Reeves will be creating projects in both his Batman and DCU universes.

Flashback

DC has the main DCU universe where the main events take place. But there is also the DC Elseworlds. It tells stories that are not related to the DCU. And DC Elseworlds includes Batman (2022) and the Penguin series. DC Elseworlds also includes the Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix.
