Microsoft has overtaken Apple to become the world's most valuable company (but not for long)

Analysts have been saying for some time that Microsoft could overtake Apple in terms of market value. And so it happened today, albeit briefly.

Microsoft's stock rose 0.7% today, while Apple's stock, on the other hand, fell in price by about 1%. This made Microsoft the most valuable company in the world.

Thanks to the growth of shares, the market value of Microsoft was $2.887 trillion, while the capitalisation of Apple was $2.871 trillion. After a while, Apple regained its leading position.

By the way, Microsoft and Apple have been fighting for the first place for many years. Last time Microsoft became the most expensive company in the world in 2021.

Now Microsoft's shares are growing on the back of the company's success in the field of artificial intelligence. Apple, in turn, is pulling back due to analysts' disappointing forecasts of weak sales.
