YouTube has started artificially slowing down video loading speeds: ad blocker users have a new problem
Google continues its war with YouTube users who use ad blockers.
Earlier, users of such programmes were faced with the inability to turn on videos when the block was activated, as YouTube has found a way to fight such applications.
Here's What We Know
The creators of programmes like AdBlock have found a way around the platform's limitations, but YouTube developers have come up with another idea on how to fight ad blocking. This time, the company has started testing an "artificial timeout that acts like an internet connection delay." Now, when trying to watch videos with adverts disabled, YouTube underestimates the speed at which the video loads, making it almost impossible to watch.
Many video hosting users have already complained about such problems without knowing about Google's innovations, but it is outrageous that, for example, the author of these lines, using a paid subscription YouTube Premium, also faced with slowing down videos. It is likely that the method is currently being tested and subscribers will not experience such inconveniences in the future.
