CD Projekt RED considers adding multiplayer elements to Cyberpunk 2

The Polish studio CD Projekt RED has already completed support for Cyberpunk 2077 and focused on the development of the next projects, but it still does not abandon the franchise completely and continues to work on the next game based on it.

Here's What We Know

The game, which is currently known by the codename Orion, has been in the "conceptual design" stage since November last year and has a long way to go before it is finished, but as CD Projekt CEO Adam Badowski told Reuters in an interview, about 80 people will be working on the project by the end of the year. His colleague, co-chairman Michal Nowakowski, also noted that CDPR is considering adding multiplayer elements to the game, but did not disclose details.

CD Projekt had planned to release a separate Cyberpunk multiplayer game back in 2019, but it was completely cancelled in 2021 as the studio had to redirect its efforts to improving the technical condition of Cyberpunk 2077 after its problematic launch.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be developed by the newly formed wing of CD Projekt RED's North American studio, which will also include several key members of the first game's development team. It is expected that 350-500 people will be working on the game at full capacity, although it will probably take some time before it reaches that stage.
